To avoid ticket lines on more crowded days, it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance but it is not required. Tickets purchased online and at the gate are good one-time entrance to the festival.
Tickets purchased online are good any day the festival is open. Tickets purchased at the gate are for one-time entrance the date ticket is purchased.
Admission includes entry into the festival for viewing all lanterns, authentic Chinese performances, and handicraft demonstrations. Merchandise and food are sold separately.
No rain checks.
Ticket sales at the gate and admission end one hour prior to close.
The festival is open rain or shine. No rain checks will be issued in the case of cancellation.

Stroll along a meandering path surrounded by unique works of art that light up the night. As the days get longer, this colorful Chinese Festival will take place at the State Park at the Fair and the International Building at the New York State Fairgrounds, from May 25th through July 1st, 2018.
The Chinese Lantern Festival will be open every day but Mondays.The daily entertainment will feature Chinese dancers, acrobats, face changers and musicians. Demonstrations of Chinese traditional crafts including painting, embroidery and Chinese paintings of visitors’ names.
Lantern festivals are a Chinese tradition that are often held to mark the end of the Chinese New Year. Thousands of brightly lit lanterns will be on display along a walkway designed delight and entertain. These unique illuminations will be created in China for the event, then assembled into vibrant displays of animals, flowers, Springtime and Chinese symbols. The entire display takes about four weeks to assemble.
All visitors must adhere to the Rules of Conduct of the New York State Fairgrounds.
